Getting Started with NAV CRAFT

Welcome to NAV CRAFT! This guide will help you get started with our custom navigation tool and show you how to organize your bookmarks effectively.

What is NAV CRAFT?

NAV CRAFT is a powerful bookmark manager and custom navigation tool that helps you organize and access your favorite websites efficiently. Unlike traditional browser bookmarks, NAV CRAFT offers categorization, search capabilities, and a visual interface to manage your web resources.

Creating Your Account

To get started with NAV CRAFT:

  1. Click the Login button in the top navigation bar
  2. Select Register to create a new account
  3. Fill in your details and create a secure password
  4. Verify your email address by clicking the link sent to your inbox
  5. Log in to start using NAV CRAFT

Tip: Use a strong, unique password for your NAV CRAFT account to keep your bookmarks secure.

Basic Navigation

After logging in, you'll see the main dashboard with these key areas:

  • Left Sidebar: Contains your categories and navigation menu
  • Top Search Bar: Search your bookmarks or the web
  • Main Content Area: Displays your bookmarks organized by category
  • User Menu: Access account settings, theme options, and logout

Account Management

Learn how to manage your NAV CRAFT account, update your profile, and secure your information.

Updating Your Profile

To update your profile information:

  1. Click on your username in the top-right corner
  2. Select Profile from the dropdown menu
  3. Update your information as needed
  4. Click Save to apply changes

Changing Your Password

For security reasons, we recommend changing your password periodically:

  1. Go to your profile page
  2. Click on the Security tab
  3. Enter your current password
  4. Enter and confirm your new password
  5. Click Update Password

Important: If you forget your password, use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page to reset it.

Data Privacy and Security

NAV CRAFT takes your privacy seriously. Your bookmark data is:

  • Stored securely on our servers
  • Never shared with third parties without your consent
  • Accessible only to you (unless you explicitly share categories)
  • Backed up regularly to prevent data loss

Managing Categories

Categories help you organize your bookmarks into logical groups. Learn how to create, edit, and organize categories effectively.

Creating Categories

To create a new category:

  1. Click the My button in the top navigation
  2. Select Categories from the sidebar
  3. Click Add Category
  4. Enter a name and select an icon for your category
  5. Choose a parent category if you want to create a subcategory
  6. Click Save

Organizing Categories

NAV CRAFT supports hierarchical categories with unlimited depth. Some organization tips:

  • Create main categories for broad topics (e.g., Work, Personal, Entertainment)
  • Add subcategories for more specific groupings
  • Use drag-and-drop to reorder categories
  • Consider using a consistent naming convention

Tip: Don't create too many top-level categories. Using subcategories creates a cleaner, more organized navigation.

Managing Bookmarks

Adding Bookmarks

To add a new bookmark:

  1. Navigate to the category where you want to add the bookmark
  2. Click the Add Link button
  3. Enter the website URL, title, and description
  4. Select or upload an icon (optional)
  5. Click Save

Editing and Moving Bookmarks

To edit or move an existing bookmark:

  1. Hover over the bookmark you want to edit
  2. Click the Edit icon (pencil)
  3. Update the information as needed
  4. To move it to a different category, select the new category from the dropdown
  5. Click Save to apply changes

Bulk Operations

For managing multiple bookmarks at once:

  • Use the checkbox next to each bookmark to select multiple items
  • Use the bulk action menu to move, delete, or tag selected bookmarks
  • Confirm your action when prompted

Customization Options

NAV CRAFT offers various customization options to personalize your experience.

Changing Themes

To change the visual theme:

  1. Click on your username in the top-right corner
  2. Select Switch Theme from the dropdown
  3. Choose from available color schemes (Blue, Green, Purple, Orange, Teal)
  4. Select Dark or Light mode
  5. Click to apply the selected theme

Layout Preferences

You can customize how your bookmarks are displayed:

  • Grid view vs. List view
  • Number of columns in grid view
  • Show/hide descriptions
  • Sort order (alphabetical, custom, recently added)

Search Engine Preferences

Configure your preferred search engine:

  1. Click on one of the search engine options (Google, Baidu, Bing)
  2. Your selection will be remembered for future searches

Is NAV CRAFT free to use?

Yes, NAV CRAFT is completely free to use. We currently offer all features at no cost, allowing you to create and organize unlimited bookmarks and categories.

Can I import bookmarks from my browser?

Currently, the browser bookmark import feature is not supported. You'll need to add your bookmarks manually. We're working on implementing this feature in a future update to make the transition to NAV CRAFT easier.

Is there a mobile app for NAV CRAFT?

Currently, NAV CRAFT is available as a responsive web application that works well on mobile devices. Dedicated mobile apps for iOS and Android are in development and will be released soon.

Can I share my bookmarks with others?

The bookmark sharing feature is not currently available. At present, your bookmarks are private and accessible only to you. We plan to add sharing capabilities in a future update, which will allow you to share specific categories or individual bookmarks with other users.

What happens if I delete a category?

When you delete a category, you'll be asked what to do with the bookmarks inside it. You can either move them to another category or delete them along with the category. This helps prevent accidental data loss.

Can I access NAV CRAFT offline?

NAV CRAFT requires an internet connection to access your bookmarks. However, we're working on an offline mode that will allow you to access previously viewed bookmarks when you're not connected to the internet.
